Accolade Wines has announced its new ‘Gold Membership’ status with Sommeliers Australia, an important step in its commitment to supporting the on-trade.
Sommeliers Australia is a not-for-profit industry association that relies on funding from members who recognise the work Sommeliers are doing for the betterment of the wine industry.

Travis Fuller, Business Manager for Fine Wine at Accolade Wines, said becoming an official supporter of Sommeliers Australia signifies their long-term commitment to working closely with the industry.

“It is not only an important way for us to recognise the ongoing efforts of this influential network and fostering education in the hospitality industry, but also underpins our vision to connect with Sommeliers on a more frequent basis.

“In February, we took our inaugural ‘Accolade’s Finest Expo’ around the country. This was hugely successful and enabled us to profile over 250 of our premium wines to more than 1,000 attendees which included key Sommeliers in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide,” said Fuller.

In addition, Accolade Wines has other Sommelier focused activities on the horizon including partnered events, winemaker hosted dinners and master classes. They also hold an annual St Hallett’s ‘Hands On’ experience, which is by application only and immerses Sommeliers in all aspects of the winemaking process during vintage.

Franck Moreau, Co-President for Sommeliers Australia, said they are delighted to welcome Accolade Wines as their newest Gold Company Member.

“It is through partnerships with wine industry leaders such as Accolade Wines, and associated industries, that Sommeliers Australia is able to look positively to the future, and offer members the best possible tasting events and educational opportunities.

“The partnership between Accolade Wines and Sommeliers Australia highlights what the association’s National Executive Committee is working towards; Sommeliers Australia becoming an association relevant for everyone working within the Australian wine community, not only those in the Sommelier profession,” said Moreau.
