The latest release of HRB (Heritage Reserve Bin) wines feature two sumptuous reds – Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, one elegant Pinot Noir, a finely crafted Chardonnay and a classic Riesling.

Inspired by the innovation, energy and multi-regional blending prowess of our past winemakers, Hardys HRB wines are eclectic cross regional blends of hand selected parcels. Pushing the boundaries, but always retaining the finest character of each terroir, these pioneering wines are as interesting as they are unique.
As per Hardys’ winemaking mantra, a blend of regions from their diverse and amazing fruit resource, is used to help achieve complexity and consistency.
History shows that Thomas Hardy first blended grapes from multiple regions in 1865. Thomas believed the blending grapes with different characteristics would complement and enhance the qualities of each region. So began Hardy’s rich blending heritage; with each new blend a unique code was created starting from A001.

“With new packaging in place to ensure that the premium cues befitting such a range, I am confident that the Hardys HRB Range will continue to enhance the premium positioning of Hardys in the marketplace. Look out for the 2016 Riesling as the first to evolve in this new pack design”, said Travis Fuller, Marketing Manager Hardys.

2014 Shiraz Bin D662
McLaren Vale l Frankland River l Clare Valley
This wine is a blend of three supreme regions, combining all the best features of each individual area to produce a wine with complexity and intensity of fruit.  McLaren Vale and the Clare Valley are the heroes of the blend adding thickness with a chocolate flavour core; while Frankland River provides the vibrancy and blueberry elements to the blend.

2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Bin D647
Coonawarra l Margaret River l  Frankland River
For this release, fruit was sourced from premium wine regions of Coonawarra, Margaret River and Frankland River. Each region adds its unique signature to the finished blend. Coonawarra with its chocolate-mint richness combines with Margaret River to add cassis and herbal notes. These have been skilfully woven against background of Frankland River Cabernet, giving the wine a power and drive to a long luxurious finish.

2015 Pinot Noir Bin D667
Yarra Valley l  Tasmania
The fruit for this wine was sourced from premium vineyards in Australia’s best cool climate regions; the Yarra Valley which produces classical strawberry fruit aromas and soft tannins; and Tasmania which delivers a dark fruit spectrum with a richer and spicier mid to back palate.

The 2015 vintage sees a sumptuous medium bodied wine showing the influence of whole bunch natural ferments and use of French oak. The bouquet carries aromas of strawberry, cherries, autumnal leaves, spicy and anise while the palate is loaded with flavours of red and dark fruits and silky savoury tannins.

2015 Chardonnay Bin D664
Tumbarumba l Yarra Valley l Margaret River l Adelaide Hills l Pemberton
This vintage resulted in a complex wine that showcases intense fruit flavours, structured acidity and subtle oak nuances.  With intense lemon flavours and taught mineral acidity, Tumbarumba brings to the blend the structural framework upon which the rest of the wine is crafted.

Yarra Valley builds on this framework with mid-palate fruit sweetness while Margaret River and Adelaide Hills adds an intensity of white peach and grapefruit to the mix.  Finally a small portion from Pemberton builds the creaminess and richness to the palate with subtle spice to finish. Overall a powerful and rich expression of Chardonnay using the building blocks of Australia’s very best regions.

2016 Riesling Bin D669
Clare Valley l Tasmania
From two classic Riesling producing regions, this vintage produced a fuller, traditional style. The fine lemon and mineral tightness of Clare Valley fruit combined with the intense fruit flavours of Tasmania creates a balanced wine that expresses lifted citrus fruit tones and a length and line that will be enjoyed now or for years to come.
