History

With its first vintage in 1857, Hardys is one of Australia’s oldest wineries. Despite South Australia once being considered a far-removed place, Thomas Hardy was certain that here he could make ‘wine that will be prized in the markets of the world’. He helped forge the Australian wine industry and was a true pioneer, entrepreneur and visionary.

Today our winemakers continue to uphold the Hardys pioneering and visionary spirit, crafting quality wines for consumers to enjoy across the globe.

Winemaking

Premium quality is an integral part of our Hardys winemaking philosophy. Today Hardys chief winemaker, Helen McCarthy maintains the expressive style of the Hardys wine collection, sourcing fruit from the best regions of Australia and maintaining the brands trademark of fruit intensity, multi-regional blending and generous flavours and structure.

Quality remains a key part of our wine making philosophy, with an eye on delivering wines that will be prized the world over.
