House of Arras and Eddystone Point have continued the momentum of their 2014 wine show circuit success with a haul of trophies and gold medals at the 2015 Tasmanian Wine Show Presentation dinner held in Hobart on Friday night.

The 2002 House of Arras EJ Carr Late Disgorged was awarded the trophy for the Best Late Disgorged Mature Vintage Sparkling Wine and the 2012 Eddystone Point Pinot Noir picked up the trophy for the Best Three Year Old Pinot Noir.

These trophy wins coupled with five gold medals across House of Arras, Eddystone Point and Bay of Fires has earned Accolade Wines the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research Trophy for the Most Successful Exhibitor, the second time in three years.

The annual Tasmanian Wine Show showcases Tasmanian wines, and recognises and rewards the skill and dedication to quality of Tasmanian grape growers and winemakers. It provides an opportunity for wine producers to compare their wines with other Tasmanian wines.

Newly appointed Eddystone Point Winemaker, Richard Evans accepted trophies on behalf of Eddystone Point and House of Arras and was overjoyed with the results.

“We’re all extremely passionate advocates of Tassie and to receive this level of recognition on home soil is humbling. Both brands exemplify and express Tasmania and what makes our region unique.

“The 2002 House of Arras EJ Carr LD exhibits all the hallmarks of world class sparkling wine and pays tribute to the patience, dedication and brilliance of its maker – Ed Carr.

“The 2012 Eddystone Point Pinot Noir is a softly spiced, fruit driven and aromatic young wine, highlighting the complexity afforded by subregional blending,” said Richard.
