Petaluma was founded in 1976 on the simple belief that to make the best wine, you must plant the right grape varieties in the right regions. This is our ‘distinguished vineyards’ philosophy that takes us to Coonawarra for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Clare Valley for Riesling, and Adelaide Hills for Chardonnay and Shiraz. All Petaluma sites have been meticulously chosen based on their aspect, soil, drainage and rainfall to ensure this ultimate site expression.

History
The Piccadilly vineyards were planted in the 1980’s. In 1990 the first Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay was released under the iconic label. The B&V Vineyard in Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills planted in 1992, Hanlin Hill in 1968, and our Evans Vineyard in Coonawarra was planted in 1968 and named after the former chairman of Petaluma, Len Evans.
Today, we have a dedicated team of grape growers and winemakers, working together to carefully craft truly great elegant wines.
